Eletech Ode to Laura Review: The Copper Artisan

Pairing with Dita Audio Perpetua (Review link)

The main change is the clarity. Laura preserves Perpetua’s deep and thick-colored tone and naturally brings a higher-resolution sound. The bass lines are dense, thick, and clearer, and while doing so Laura doesn’t loosen sub-bass reverbs, keeping the sound signature aligned with the original Perpetua. The ultra-low extensions in particular feel more energetic and tightened which I appreciate a lot.

Vocals get crisp and tight. The vocal tone is similar to the original but added with more richness and finesse. Laura improves the trebles significantly, sprinkling Perpetua’s upper-ends with lush, technical details. Despite all these, trebles don’t get hot or edgy in texture, so most Perpetua users would only appreciate these changes unless you’re extra sensitive to trebles and prefer a strictly warm sound.

Overall, Perpetua’s smooth and tube-like sound has now been topped with accurate and technical aspects. Ode to Laura offers much more musical enjoyment by revealing the small bits of details that have been left out from the music I used to listen to with the stock cable.

Pairing with Nostalgia Audio Camelot (Review link)

Camelot is Nostalgia Audio’s tribrid flagship earphone that comes with a custom-grade stock cable called the Avalon. Yet again, matching Ode to Laura with Camelot works out beautifully. The first impression of this matching is that the overall sound gets deeper and thicker in density. These changes cause the sound to get laggy or loosen. Laura makes the sound even more agile in fact.

Camelot’s rich timbre and reverbs have also got clearer in tone. The bass is only slightly more emphasized but not by increasing the quantity. Instead, the bass reverbs linger with more flavor and sound livelier. Laura stretches the ultra-low extensions a bit further than the Avalon.

As for the vocals specifically, the texture has gotten smoother yet even more refined and detailed. Because of this, Camelot brings out the vocals with higher resolution while not causing fatigue. Treble quantity is kept almost identical to Avalon but Laura introduces delicacy and fine layering, enhancing the flavor and richness without coloration.

Pairing with MMR Balmung (Review link)

Balmung is Metal Magic Research’s flagship IEM that knows how to bring out a deep, thick sound in a clean manner, and Ode to Laura pairs perfectly with it. Laura unveils the potential that Balmung had that wasn’t discovered with the stock cable, empowering Balmung with even deeper, realistic sound.

The bass is clearer and higher in density, as well as the reverbs sound deeper in tone, boosting Balmung’s signature charms. Vocals are also upgraded quite significantly. Laura reinforces the clarity and body of the vocals to make the mid-range stand out better. Vocals are tightly controlled and cleanly distinguished from the sub-bass to make the presentation extra clean.

Timbre has gotten tighter and more moist, offering a more natural tone to the ears. For the trebles, the separation and crisp textures are the main differences, leading Balmung to show stronger technicalities.
