Rolling Force Cosmos Review: Into the Mystique Euphoria

Compared to PW Audio 1960S MK2 (Review link)

The 1960S MK2 desires the extra mature, organic, and creamier sound signature that shines more highlight on the low-ends. It has a neutral-warm (or neutral-dark) timbre, offering a more organic and warmer sound. It gives a bit more of a dynamic-driver-ish tone. The 1960S highlights more sub-bass verbs and one of its specialties is to let the reverbs flex their potential yet without getting the sound muddier or dull. In contrast, while Cosmos significantly highlights the bass portion, the approach differs from 1960S MK2 as Cosmos doesn’t significantly increase the sub-bass but instead highlights the ultra-lows, and daringly thickens the sub-bass’ color tone.

Another big difference between Cosmos and 1960S MK2 is where these cables set the center of the sound. For the 1960S MK2, the center of the sound is set lower than Cosmos which gives a sedate, grand, and more in-depth sound. The 1960S MKII plays beautifully better with atmospheric, or grand soundtracks. Meanwhile, this “center of gravity”, or the center of the sound, Cosmos keeps a neutral ground, though since Cosmos is also a cable that shines a significant presence for the bass (but not in quantity, and also differently from 1960S MK2 as I’ve explained), so Cosmos gives does gives a weightier sound. These two cables also differ in music tempo – the 1960S MK2 typically works better with slower-tempo music or genres that are enjoyable when the layerings are better analyzed. On the other hand, Cosmos plays better with a faster tempo, upbringing music with complicated and diverse details splashing and flooding in from all directions.

Compared to Eletech Illiad (Review link)

Unlike my expectations, these two cables share quite some similarities. The overall mature, deep tone and nuance of the sound are similar – yet Cosmos is slightly darker and thicker in color. Both cables are similar in vocal timbre as well as having neutral thick vocals. However, Illiad’s vocals are mildly thinner in body, though in exchange, Illiad achieves more air and atmospheric room for the air to linger in the mid-range. This, of course, means Illiad has a bit more airiness.

However, both cables have just about the same level of excellent transparency. The treble performance also matches similar but the texture differs, and it hits the ears quite differently. While both cables have crisp and micro-detailed treble resolution, Illiad’s trebles sound smoother, finer, and more airy. Cosmos’ trebles have better agility, speed, and analyticity. Of course, these differences aren’t nights and days, yet these surely are noticeable differences.

Let your IEMs Fly Among the Galaxies

Spending this much money on a mere earphone cable may feel too much – yet with the magic that Cosmos does for your favorite IEMs, Rolling Force does more than enough simply justify to price, but going beyond, to have Cosmos paired with your IEM to be a destiny. Well, matching differences need to be taken into consideration, yet what I like about Cosmos is that it isn’t choosy for what IEMs it matches well with, hence bringing a consistently beautiful sound overhaul for your flagship IEMs. An overhaul that doesn’t mess around with the “originals” of the sound of the basic charms that the IEM used to possess but only maximizes it. As the sub-title says – let your flagship IEM fly among the galaxies, into new spaces with Cosmos!
